Stevenage: Charcoal Grill

Sunday night, lacking knowledge and and not feeling the food in Stevenage, i remembered this place so thought i would give it a shot.

Charcoal Grill is a take primarily a take away place with a small amount of seating in the store.

I ordered a Charcoal Grilled Chicken Burger meal.

The Environment: Looks a bit run down, the menu above the counter doesn’t fully reflect  the printed menu.

Overall, it is a standard take-away.

Rating: 4/10

The Service: I wouldn’t say it was service with a smile, but the guy seemed okay. – Nothing memorable.

Rating: 5/10

The Food: The portion size was decent, although the bun was bigger than the chicken piece so made it look small.  There was a generous amount of chips in the meal with the standard can of drink.

I have to mention the sauces; The mayonnaise seemed fine, but the Chilli Sauce, KEEP WELL AWAY! There was a funny over powering vinegary taste.  The burger was pretty much ruined.  The chips where soaked with it.  I can still smell.

Rating: 6/10 (If i counted the chilli sauce, then 2)

Summary: Standard take away, but absolutely ruined by the rank chilli sauce!

Would i go back? yes i would but i would keep well away from the Chilli Sauce!
